Life Membership is awarded by the AFGA executive at no set interval, and based on the long term provincial contribution an individual has shown to the benefit the AFGA and its members. These individuals have in many cases a decades long history of commitment to the conservation goals of the AFGA, and many continue to be active in various ways with the AFGA, its committees or representation on outside boards.
